It would be rude not to put the leftovers from Sunday’s roast beef to good use.

Sure, a cold roast beef sandwich with horseradish is great.

Shredded leftover beef into a sweet and spicy stir fry, also good.

Cold meat chips and pickle, a winner.

And then there’s hot beef baguettes.

Hot slices of tender roast beef in gravy, with a smidgeon of English mustard, spinach, gherkins and mayonnaise on homemade baguette (with some extra gravy served on the side, à la French dip)

If you want to give homemade baguettes a go, I recommend checking out Bake With Jack’s Lockdown Bread Recipes. Now I’ve got the hang of the no-knead baguette method, it’s such an easy bread recipe and the results have been great every time. It makes such a difference to have good bread as the base of the sandwich.
